PGO Declares Donetsk People's Republic And Luhansk People's Republic As Terrorist Organizations

The Prosecutor-General's Office has declared the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic as terrorist organizations.
The press service of the Prosecutor-General's Office announced this in a statement.
"We are acknowledging and confirming the words of the Minister of Justice that the two so-called people's republics in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions are two terrorist organizations that have clear hierarchies and channels for financing and supply of weapons," the statement said.
The Prosecutor-General's Office, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, has initiated criminal proceedings against these organizations under Article 258-3 (creation of a terrorist organization) of the Penal Code.
According to the Prosecutor-General's Office, these organizations were created for targeted use of violence, hostage taking, sabotage, murder, and intimidation of citizens.
First Deputy Prosecutor-General Mykola Holomsha has said that an action plan that provides for investigating parliamentary deputies, local council deputies, officials at all levels, and others for involvement in the creation of these criminal organizations has been drafted following meetings with other law enforcement agencies.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko recently predicted that the Prosecutor-General's Office would soon declare the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic as terrorist organizations.
